Not the right fit if…
- You want to stop barking — holding a mouth shut does not change why a dog barks, and it is not what a muzzle is for. Barking is a training and welfare question for your vet or a behaviorist
- You need it for longer than a few minutes — unless a muzzle lets your dog open its mouth fully, it cannot pant, and panting is how dogs cool themselves
- It is warm out, or your dog will be exercising — that combination is the dangerous one
- Your dog is reactive or anxious — a muzzle manages the risk in the moment; the cause is work for your vet or a behaviorist
- You need all-day or off-lead wear — a basket muzzle your dog can pant, drink and take treats through is the right tool. We would rather you bought one of those than this
