How to choose

A small range of clothing for cats: light vests, jumpers and seasonal pieces.

Most cats do not need clothes, and plenty will not tolerate them. The cats it genuinely helps are hairless breeds, very thin or elderly cats, and cats recovering from a clip who are cold indoors.

Sizing is the whole problem. Cat clothing is cut for a cat's shape rather than a small dog's, which is why dog clothes rarely fit them. Measure the chest behind the front legs and the back length from collar to tail base, and size up if you are between two — most of these run small.

Supervised wear only. Take it off when your cat is alone: a leg can catch in a loose garment, and a cat that gets stuck in one will not stay calm about it.

If your cat freezes, flattens, or refuses to walk in it, that is a no. Wrong size? One photo gets you a swap, with nothing to ship back.
