Beds, mats, blankets and crate kit for dogs at home. Choose by how your dog sleeps and how often you will be washing it.
Sprawlers want a flat mattress or a sofa-style bed: measure nose to tail base while your dog lies on their side, then add 15–20 cm. Curlers want a round nest with sides. Older dogs want low sides they can step over and firm support rather than deep plush, since a high bolster is a wall to a dog with sore hips.
Washability decides it for most people. Check whether the cover comes off or the whole bed goes in the machine, and how it handles a wet dog. A bed that cannot be washed easily gets replaced sooner than one that can.
A bed is not a chew toy: if your dog opens the seams, take it away rather than leaving the filling within reach.
