Not the right fit if…
- You need it to prevent overheating — it will not. A cooling mat is comfort, not heat protection. Shade, water and staying indoors during the hottest hours are what keep a dog safe
- Your dog is flat-faced, elderly or heavy-coated — those dogs are at real risk in heat, and a bed does not change that. Heavy panting, drooling, wobbliness or collapse is an emergency: cool the dog and call your vet immediately
- Your dog prefers to burrow — a cool surface only works if they lie on it
