Not the right fit if…
- You want to stop scavenging on walks. That means wearing it for the whole walk, and a muzzle that holds the mouth closed stops your dog panting — which is how dogs cool themselves. A basket muzzle is the right tool for scavenging, because a dog can pant, drink and take treats through it. We would rather you bought one of those than this
- You need it for longer than a few minutes — same reason
- It is warm out, or your dog will be exercising — that combination is the dangerous one
- Your dog eats things from anxiety or boredom — covering the mouth does not address why, and a dog that scavenges compulsively needs a vet or a behaviorist

Measure your pet lying down, nose to tail base, and add 15–20% for beds; for collars and harnesses measure the neck and the widest part of the chest. Between two sizes? Take the larger one.
